Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim continued his excellent form with a brilliant unbeaten 90 off 54 balls as the Dhaka Capitals secured an eight-wicket win over the Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The victory moved Dhaka to fourth place on the points table, keeping their playoff hopes alive, BSS reports.

After opting to bat first, Chittagong were restricted to 148-6, a target Dhaka chased down comfortably, reaching 149-2 in 18.1 overs.

Tanzid smashed three fours and seven sixes during his match-winning knock. He shared a 75-run opening stand with Liton Das in nine overs, setting the foundation for an easy victory. Liton, however, could not capitalize on his start and was dismissed for 25 off 28 balls, which included three boundaries.

Munim Shahriar contributed a slow 12 before being dismissed by Aliss Al Islam. Tanzid and Sabbir Rahman then guided the team home without any further hiccups. Sabbir remained not out on 14.

Earlier, Dhaka's bowlers put on a disciplined display to stifle the Chittagong batters, with Mustafizur Rahman playing a key role. Though he went wicketless, Mustafizur conceded only 18 runs in his four overs, applying significant pressure on the opposition.

Mosaddek Hossain and Nazmul Islam Apu capitalized on that pressure, taking two wickets each.

Chittagong's innings was anchored by opener Naeem Islam, who top-scored with 44 off 40 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. His opening partner, Zubaid Akbari, contributed 23.

Despite the defeat, Chittagong remain in third place with five wins from nine matches.
