Bangladesh Nationalist Party has further expanded its list of nominees for the forthcoming national elections, naming candidates for 36 additional constituencies.

The announcement was made on Thursday by the party’s secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, during a briefing at the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan.

The move is part of the party’s continued efforts to finalise its electoral line-up ahead of the polls.

Addressing reporters, Mirza Fakhrul said that the BNP had earlier released nominations for 237 constituencies, and the latest round of announcements represents another significant step towards completing the party’s full roster of candidates.

‘We had already announced nominations in 237 constituencies. Today, we are announcing names for another 36 seats,’ he said.

‘A few more—around 27 constituencies—remain pending. Those seats are linked to our alliance partners, and decisions are still being finalised in some other areas. We will announce those later,’ he said.

The BNP secretary general said that discussions with alliance partners were ongoing, and the party expected to conclude the remaining decisions in due course.
