The government has approved 500 additional beds for Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, turning it into a 1,000-bed facility.

The Health Services Division issued a circular on Wednesday approving the expansion.

The move comes as the BNP government has already approved around 2,000 additional beds at 14 public hospitals since assuming office in February, while another 700 beds have been sanctioned for four new public hospitals in four districts.
