Bangladesh has strongly condemned all attacks that result in the loss of innocent lives and while calling upon all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged the international community to take urgent and effective measures to de-escalate the situation and prevent further loss of life in the Middle East as the US-Israel strikes on Iran continues.
It said the Bangladesh government is deeply saddened by the death of two Bangladeshis and the injury of other Bangladeshi nationals following an aerial attack in Al-Kharj governorate in Saudi Arabia yesterday.
“Continued loss of lives of innocent Bangladeshi civilians in the region is a matter of grave concern,” the statement said.
The two Bangladeshis killed in the aerial attacks are Bacchu Miah of Katiadi, Kishorganj and Mosharraf Hossain of Shakhipur, Tangail.
The injured are receiving treatment at local hospitals.
The officials of Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh have visited the injured at the hospitals, and they are in close contact with the Saudi authorities to bring back the mortal remains of the deceased, the foreign ministry said.
Bangladesh government accords high priority to the safety and welfare of Bangladeshi nationals in the Middle East and is closely monitoring the evolving situation, it said.
There are over six million Bangladeshis working in the Gulf.
