After playing out a goalless draw against India in the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Shillong on Tuesday night, Bangladesh national football team will return home this afternoon while Hamza Choudhury will catch an England-bound flight from the airport in Dhaka.
The men in red and green have already left Shillong, Meghalaya in the early morning today for Gawahati, Assam to catch a flight for Kolkata from where they are scheduled to leave for Dhaka at 4:15pm (India time) and are supposed to land in Dhaka at 5:15pm.
Even though Bangladesh team reached Shillong via Kolkata on March 20, they had to travel for nearly three hours on road to reach Gawahati in a bid to come back home.
According to the Bangladesh Football Federation, if the team were to return home through the same route they went to Shillong, they would have to stay in Kolkata for one night. That's why they took the route through Guwahati, which is nearly 120km away from Shillong.
Hamza will not get out of the Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport after returning from India and he, along with his family members, will catch an England-bound flight straight from there.
