Six newly elected members of parliament from the National Citizen Party (NCP) took their oaths this afternoon at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

The lawmakers swore in twice—first as members of parliament and then as members of the Constitutional Reform Council.

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin administered the oaths, which began around 1:20 pm.

Elected in the 13th Parliamentary Election on February 12, the NCP MPs did not join other members of the Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance, as well as the independent and Islami Andolan MPs, who took their oaths earlier at 12:20 pm.

Earlier in the day, MPs-elect from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) took their parliamentary oaths around 10:35 am, but they did not take the oath as members of the Constitutional Reform Council.
