A murder case will be started against the former senior police officer and he will be produced in court soon, says PBI chief

Evidences link former superintendent of police Babul Akter to the murder of his wife Mahmuda Akter Mitu, says the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

“We have found evidence that Babul Akter was involved in the murder of his wife Mitu,” PBI chief Banaj Kumar Majumder told a media call on Wednesday at its headquarters in Dhaka.

A murder case will be started against the former senior police officer and he will be produced in court soon, he said.

On the morning of June 5, 2016, Mitu was hacked and shot dead near the GEC Intersection in Chittagong, when she was on her way to drop her son to the school.
