HBO has reportedly found its Rubeus Hagrid for the upcoming "Harry Potter" series.

As the cast for the highly anticipated project continues to take shape, British actor and comedian Nick Frost is reportedly in the final stages of securing the role of the beloved half-giant and Hogwarts groundskeeper, according to Deadline.

If the deal is finalised, Frost would join an ensemble that is said to include John Lithgow as Professor Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Professor Snape—though some actors are still in negotiations.

HBO has remained tight-lipped about casting, stating, "Given the high-profile nature of this series, speculation and rumours are inevitable. As we progress through pre-production, we will only confirm details once agreements are officially in place."

Despite the network's discretion, speculation surrounding Frost's involvement has gained traction, particularly after his cryptic Instagram post on March 20 that read, "It's happening, it's actually happening." Fans also noted that he recently followed rumoured co-stars Lithgow and Essiedu on social media.

Hagrid, originally brought to life by the late Robbie Coltrane in the film adaptations, is a fan-favourite character known for his kindness and passion for magical creatures.

The forthcoming HBO series, which is planned to unfold over a decade, is being helmed by writer-showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director-executive producer Mark Mylod. The creative team aims to deliver a "faithful adaptation" of JK Rowling's novels, promising a deeper exploration of the wizarding world.
