The Rajya Sabha of India will hold obituary references today to pay tributes to several distinguished personalities, including former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

According to the official List of Business of the Upper House, the obituary references will be taken up half an hour after the conclusion of the President’s Address to a joint sitting of Parliament.

Besides Khaleda Zia, the house will also pay homage to former Rajya Sabha members Shri L Ganesan and Shri Suresh Kalmadi.

The secretary-general will lay on the table a copy of the President’s Address, in both English and Hindi, delivered to both Houses of Parliament assembled together today.

The List of Business was issued by Rajya Sabha Secretary-General PC Mody yesterday.
