To celebrate the Great Victory Day, a "Great Victory Day Celebration and Cultural Programme" will be held on December 28 with the participation of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Portugal. The main attraction of the event will be Rahul Ananda, the frontman of folk-fusion band Joler Gaan.

Organised by Casa Do Bangladesh at the Mercado da Culturas Hall premises in Lisbon, this cultural programme will also feature performances by popular artists Nadim Wahid, famed for "Sonapakhi", and Shraboni Mutsuddi.

These details were shared by Roni Hossain, President of Casa Do Bangladesh, at a press conference held on Sunday (December 14) in the hallroom of Didaj Restaurant in Lisbon. Also present at the event were the organisation's advisers M A Hakim Minhaj and Masum Ahmed, Secretary Shahid Ahmed (Prince), Iqbal Ahmed Kanchan, Hafiz Al Asad, Shahin Ahmed, along with other leaders of the organisation.

At the press conference, the organisation's president Roni Hossain said, "Last year we celebrated Victory Day in an open field. However, considering various surrounding circumstances this year, we are organising a day-long programme at the Mercado da Culturas Hall premises. The main objective of this event is to present the spirit of the Great Liberation War, the glorious history of victory, and the culture and heritage of Bangladesh to the new generation growing up in the diaspora."

He further added that the event will feature a discussion session on the significance of the Great Victory Day, special performances by children and adolescents, various stalls highlighting Bangladeshi heritage and culture, an engaging cultural programme, and a reunion of expatriate Bangladeshis.
