The city of Istanbul, which witnessed one of the most memorable Champions League finals in 2005 when Liverpool trailed by three goals in the first half only to produce a miraculous comeback and win on penalties against AC Milan, has reached fever pitch as it prepares for another captivating final -- between Manchester City and Inter Milan.

City fans continued partying ahead of the final, downing pints as the sun came out and temperatures soared to 25c.

Some fans have spent thousands of dollars to watch the game, while others have come without a ticket, hoping to still get one for European club football's showpiece event.

City, long hungry for European success, aim for a long-awaited triumph on the continental stage. Inter yearn for a return to the glory days of old.
