Noted filmmaker Srijit Mukherji has confirmed that his upcoming Bengali film, "Killbill Society", is inspired by the life of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie.
According to Telegraph India, Jolie revealed in a 2003 interview with The Face magazine that at the age of 22, she had once considered ending her life in an unconventional manner—by hiring a hitman.
At the time, the 27-year-old actress explained that she didn't want her death to be seen as a suicide, as she feared the emotional toll it would take on her loved ones, especially her mother.

"In a way that might sound crazy, I believe many young people think about suicide," Jolie said in the interview.
To spare her family from guilt, she came up with a plan to make her death look like a random act of violence instead of suicide. She even began setting aside small amounts of money to pay the hired killer.
Surprisingly, the hitman persuaded her to rethink her decision. "He was decent enough to suggest that I take some time to reconsider and call him back in two months," Jolie recalled.

The time she spent reflecting on her situation ultimately led her to abandon the plan and later rise to fame as a Hollywood icon.
Addressing conspiracy theorists, Srijit wrote on X Thursday, "This real-life incident is the inspiration behind #KillbillSociety. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the music."
Scheduled for release on April 11, "Killbill Society" is a sequel to Srijit Mukherji's 2012 film "Hemlock Society".
Parambrata Chattopadhyay reprises his role as Ananda Kar from the original film, though in this chapter, he is now known as Mrityunjoy. Koushani Mukherjee takes on the role of Poorna, a young woman grappling with suicidal thoughts.
The ensemble cast also features Biswanath Basu, Sandipta Sen, and Anindya Chatterjee in significant roles.
"Killbill Society" marks Koushani's debut collaboration with director Srijit Mukherji.
On Wednesday, the filmmakers unveiled the movie's first song, "Nei Tui Aager Moto". Composed by Anupam Roy, the track has been sung by Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury.
