Ten people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,801 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

A total of 16,088 samples were tested across the country and at least 243 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,566,907, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.51 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 15.40 percent.

At least 534 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,530,083 and the recovery rate is 97.65 percent. 

Among the 10 deceased, four were men and six were women.

Of them, three were between 31-40 years old, two between 51-60, three between 61-70, and two between 71-80 years old, added the release.
