Two leading actresses and one male lead are coming together in a new web film slated for Eid al-Fitr release. Ashna Habib Bhabna and Prarthana Fardin Dighi will be seen sharing the screen alongside Irfan Sajjad in a project directed by Sumon Dhar.
Although the title of the web film has not yet been finalised, shooting began in the last week of December and is currently underway at various locations, including Savar's Golapgram. Director Sumon Dhar said the film is being developed with Eid al-Fitr in mind and will follow a dark thriller narrative.
Speaking about the project, Irfan Sajjad said he has always been drawn to dark thriller stories. "I enjoy watching this genre, and I never turn down acting offers in such stories," he said. "My character has several layers, which gives me plenty of scope to perform. The shooting days so far have been very enjoyable."
He also shared his experience working with his co-stars. While Irfan has previously acted opposite Bhabna, this marks his first on-screen collaboration with Dighi. "Bhabna is a very dedicated performer and extremely supportive as a co-actor," he said. "Working with Dighi for the first time has also been a great experience. I'm enjoying the project thoroughly."
Dighi, who recently completed shooting for "Biday" directed by Mehedi Hassan Ridoy, still has a few days of work left on that film while simultaneously shooting for Sumon Dhar's new project. She has previously collaborated with the director on web films "Shesh Chithi" and "Fera".
"Sumon's stories are always different, and this one is no exception," Dighi said. "There's also a level of comfort working with him."
Talking about sharing the screen with another female lead, Dighi added, "Bhabna apa is someone I admire and am very close to. I had actually decided not to do films with two heroines this year due to past experiences. But when I heard Bhabna apa was the other lead, I didn't hesitate for a moment. She has been incredibly supportive on set, which is rare. As for Irfan, he is a strong actor who stays immersed in his character, and the set atmosphere is always lively."
Bhabna recently wrapped shooting for "Payel", directed by Raihan Khan, while another film, "Japito Jibon" directed by Habibul Islam, is awaiting release. Briefly commenting on the new web film, Bhabna said, "This is a character I haven't played before. The story is excellent, and details about the character will be revealed soon through posters. I'm truly enjoying the work."
Director Sumon Dhar said the cast was chosen purely based on the story's requirements. "These are artistes I wanted to work with," he said. "I hope to complete the project properly and bring it to audiences as planned."
